Founded in 2017 and fully established in 2018, Taxi With Strangers is an indie-rock outfit hailing from Lancaster and Morecambe comprising of David Morton-Jones (vocals/bass), Jake Bellamy (guitar), Toby Weatherill (drums) and recent band addition Niall Graham (guitar).

Taxi With Strangers had a busy 2020 releasing three tracks and 2021 looks like it could be another busy year as their first track of the year Let Loose dropped on Friday 12 February.

When asked about the track the band said:

Written around the end of July, early August of the first lockdown Let Loose was birthed from the idea of people's overwhelming stress and negativity about COVID-19. The lyrics are based on how it's important to enjoy yourself once in a while. Of course, it's a pandemic and we need to follow the rules, but we wanted to remind people to remember to have fun and not dwell so much on the negatives. When this is all over, we'll all let loose!

Let Loose has a very atmospheric intro, a shimmering wall of guitar fuzziness until the drums explode and the track springs to life with real energy and a superb hook which drives the track.

It’s an exuberant piece of indie pop, celebrating themes of being out and about and letting your down, or maybe even being able to get it cut !!!, sorry I digress. Hopefully as things look more optimistic maybe some fun times are around the corner and you can get your mates over and blast this out in the garden, it’s a track that needs to be played loud.

Taxi With Strangers look to have really found their feet over the last year, lockdown seems to have focused their minds on writing and the recent releases are showcasing a band who are going to bring us some fabulous feel good bangers !!
