Martin Leary - Do You Question?

Martin Leary is an indie/alternative rock artist based in Glasgow.

I had the pleasure of reviewing his brilliant debut EP All In Good Time in late 2020 and have been a huge fan since and always look forward to seeing new music land from him.

His first release in 2022 Lost In The City has quickly been followed up by his latest single Do You Question?

Martin isn’t afraid to change styles in his music from out and out indie rock tunes to tracks almost touching on indie folk, the latest track Do You Question? has a softer piano driven melody played by Tony Graham and is complemented by tug on the heart melancholic lyrics.

The piano playing by Tony Graham elevates the track with an infectious melody that embeds the track deep into the mind.

The lyrics certainly tug on the heart as they dissect the issues in a failing relationship which may strike a nerve especially as we approach Valentine’s Day.

I particularly like the line “so many options so little time, we can bin what we fix and replace everything” which describes the problems most relationships can encounter.

Martin Leary is a very interesting songwriter he is as comfortable writing indie bangers as he is writing melancholic ballads and is definitely an artist to be watched.
