Arcade State - Splinter

Arcade State are a Glasgow five piece who are one of the fastest rising bands of the Scottish music scene.

They are Ciaran Murray (vocals/guitar), Jordan Murray (drums), David Daly (bass), Scott Frank (keys/synth/vocal) and Andy Arthur (lead guitar).

Unfortunately they have just announced that Andy, due to outside commitments, will be leaving the band with his final appearance being at their biggest show to date at Glasgow’s SWG3 on 23 April.

Citing influences from amongst others Biffy Clyro, The Xcerts, Nirvana, Talking Heads, Frightened Rabbit they write catchy alternative indie rock/pop tracks with anthemic sing along choruses and are tipped for success in 2022.

Last year was a busy year releasing five singles and a remix their last single Silence being about dealing with mental health issues and raising monies for that cause.

And here we are in 2022 and the first single of the year is Splinter and it’s huge, with a crashing drum intro, fabulous guitar melodies and an infectious sing along chorus this is a track that’s destined to be played on big stages and festivals and will be a staple in live sets for years to come.

I mentioned the influences that the band draw from earlier but with each new song they release they are shaping their own sound and creating a buzz that will attract a huge following. The biggest compliment I can add here is that it won’t be long before bands are being shaped by the influence of Arcade State.
