Black Tiles - Leave

Black Tiles are an Aberdeen post punk quintet, they are Tilly O’Connor (vocals/guitar), Callum Ogilvie (bass), Kieran Henderson (lead guitar), Georgie Downie (synth) and Liam Watson (drums).

They draw influences from the sounds of 80’s indie bands such as The Cure and they have a brooding indie punk sound, with cutting guitars and booming synths with a strong female vocal.

Their latest single Leave is released today Friday 20 March 2020.

It is a stripped back song that is really focusing on Tilly’s fantastic vocal, pretty much accompanied only by bass and drums. As it reaches its conclusion it does raise the tempo bringing us some scratchy guitars, a pounding bass and some wavy synth.

It is a song that is very erotic in its lyrics and in a loose manner describes the feelings of lusting after someone and not the Brexit campaign of the same name !!!

The artwork for the single and promo stuff was done by graphic designer Ellis Doyle, who is a friend of the band.
