WEB - HAZE

WEB is the new project from The View’s bassist and songwriter Kieren Webster, they are currently a three piece Kieren (guitar/vocals), Andy (bass) and his brother Gav (drums).

Their debut single HAZE was released on Friday 27 March 2020.

It starts of with a very punky guitar feel, short and sharp drums, complimented by Kieren’s rocky vocal, it’s a very catchy number, with good hooks and a catchy chorus “sandstorm, now that’s he gone, pick yourself up, we’ve got to carry on in a sandstorm”.

Whilst fans of The View won’t be too disappointed, there are some clear signs that Kieren has different influences to draw from when freed from the shackles of co writing, there are much more psychedelic vibes to the song, perhaps akin to The Jesus and Mary Jane and perhaps some early punk with the guitar chords.

if this is a sign of the tunes that WEB have been in the studio working on then roll on to the next one as soon as possible. It’s good to have you back Mr Webster !!

As a side note the remix of the song by Dundee’s Beta Waves is an absolute delight, electronic dance beats, glorious reverb on the almost non existent vocal. It will be added to the virtual club playlists all over the country.
