Chris Greig and The Merchants are a four piece Indie-rock group made up of Chris Greig (vocals/guitar), Chris Johnstone (guitar/vocals), Donald Russell (bass/vocals) and Daniel Jack (drums/vocals).

This year despite lockdown has been a busy year for the band, they released the critically acclaimed indie rock hits SHY and Seen It All Before and they have also been actively involved in live-streaming featuring on the Facebook pages of Gig in The Goil, Sofathon Singalong and King Tuts.

After a seemingly everlasting lockdown, the indie-pop rockers return with their latest single GLUE, which was released yesterday, Friday 28 August.

Contrary to previous releases by Chris Greig & The Merchants, lead writing on this track was taken by guitarist Chris Johnstone, who wanted to write an indie-pop track which reflected the feeling of having strong feelings towards something or someone you know you shouldn’t, someone your mind is stuck on.

GLUE is an absolute summer show stopper, and it grabs your attention straight from the blocks as the repeated guitar note complements the immediate vocal from Chris.

The melody as well as having you hooked after a single listen it is a certainty to have you bopping along, particularly with the memorable sing a long chorus of “if you can’t see it then it’s not true, the wrong things yeah you stick like glue”.

With every track that Chris Greig & The Merchants release they get better and better, they are sharper and they constantly deliver killer melodies and hooks that capture both imagination and attention, GLUE is no exception and this will enhance their reputation as a band who write dance floor bangers.
