Alicia Deanna - Lessened By Love
Alicia Deanna is a 22 year old singer/songwriter and aspiring producer based in Edinburgh.
With a signature high range and influences such as Lana Del Rey, Billie Eilish, Wolf Alice and Aurora, Alicia-Deanna creates a unique and gripping sound.
She came onto the scene in early 2019 and released her debut single Nothing Magic after a successful summer performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and supporting international touring artist, Danny Vaughn.
Nothing Magic received a brilliant response, which to date has had almost 16,000 spotify streams and received airplay on the BBC.
This song really outlined her sound with sturdy alto notes to her signature airy highs lined with compelling vibrato.
She then went on to perform at the very first Glasgow Roots Review at St Lukes & The Winged Ox alongside some great names including Matt Owens of Noah and the Whale, Phil Campbell of The Temperance Movement, Nicoll & Elliott and many more.
January saw the release of her second single Blue in My Mind which agan attracted plenty of attention and has nearly 12,000 listens.
And earlier this month on 8 August, Alicia Deanna released her third single Lessened By Love and it is hauntingly beautiful, it has a melancholic piano melody which suits the vocal performance.
The track is an emotional, sombre and sobering tale of losing that special person in your life that I’m sure a lot of people can relate to, it begins with the opening line “I only have eyes for you and that’s the way it is” which is describing the initial love.
But the song goes on to describe losing that special person when she sings “I should never have let him leave, it would have been better trying to harder but what can I do”.
Lessened By Love is a hugely engaging track due to the fantastic vocals of Alicia Deanna and the heart on sleeve lyrics of the track, she is definitely a star in the making and a must watch for the future.
