Goose Chase - Rich Get Richer
Goose Chase are the Leed’s based punk quintet, featuring Taylor Jones (vocals), Jamie Waller (guitar/vocals), James Masterson (guitar), Eddie Lomax (bass) and Rob Hughes (drums).
Rich Get Richer is their second single and follows hard on the heels of Time Goes Too Fast For Me and is another prelude to their debut EP which is due for release in the not too distant future.
Rich Gets Richer was released today, Friday 15 May 2020 and sees the boys sharpen their political pencils with an anthem against capitalism. It’s another fierce blast of punk, it has a fantastic frenzied guitar riff and bombastic drums to drive the anarchic melody, combined with strong political lyrics.
The opening lines are “another fucking Tory just standing by watching the poor with their dollar sign eyes, five more years of austerity” describing the political landscape. The track slows down towards the end and we almost have a spoken word verse as the guitars are held back a bit and the song finishes with the angst cry of the “the rich get richer, the rich get richer”.
It’s rebellious punk, maybe not one for fans of Boris and his party but Rich Gets Richer is another great track, it’s two from two for Goose Chase and I can’t wait for the release of their EP.
