The Shed Project - Do It
The Shed Project are from Bolton and deal a blissful highly melodic northern guitar pop.
They originally started off as a three piece with everything from writing, demos, mixing and mastering done in John’s garden shed (hence the name).
They have now evolved to a five piece and they are Roy (vocals), John (rhythm), Tim (lead), Vince (bass) and Mike (drums).
This year has been a busy year for The Shed Project as they have already released three singles, Livin’, One Shot and Lucky Number.
Today, Friday 21 August, sees the release of Do It and it’s a little piece of nostalgia harking back to the 90’s indies sound.
Do It has a great melody, fantastic guitar riff, with a booming bass and supporting drums, it’s definitely a song that will have you bouncing about your lounge. I absolutely love the psychedelic guitar hook that kicks in with about a minute to go on the track, absolute class.
Typical of great indie tunes it has some anthemic lyrics when they sing “find the ways to pass the days, I gotta get out of this crazy race” and “that’s about doing enough of the thinking, gotta live your life before you stop blinking”.
The Shed Project are once again showing that they are a band who turn up the volume with their nostalgic nods to indie rock as they release one bangin’ tune after another. What’s not to like, give them a listen and get prepared to have some fun when they unleash their tunes to a live audience.
