Tired Of Fighting - Night Dwellers
Tired of Fighting are an alt punk rock trio from Newcastle, they are Nic Wood (guitar/vocals), George Sharpe (bass/vocals) and Joe Bullimore (drums).
In early 2019, Tired of Fighting ventured out into the world with their explosive brand of emotive punk. They started beating the living daylights out of their instruments in front of audiences across the North East, and their momentum has been gathering ever since with Bandstand Magazine saying:
emotional, powerful and raw, their unapologetically honest lyrics portray the beautiful vulnerability that their music has been written with
2019 culminated in them releasing their debut single Tired of Failing and se now have their second single Night Dwellers which was released today, Friday 1 May 2020.
The track is very much in the alt rock mould rather than punk, the first thing I thought of when I listened to it, was the definite REM influences (not a bad thing) on the song even down to the vocal delivery of the words Night Dwellers.
Night Dwellers has a catchy melody to it, good rhythm set by guitars and drums, vocally it’s very strong, lyrics delivered with zeal and real contemplation.
There are some very clever lyrics, I particularly liked “I cut my hair and lost some sleep I resisted but then I caved, I bought a book that said you can seize the day, I’ll advised and I’ll considered, I guess I could not contemplate…”
It’s a very good track, you can sense the emotion of the song and the openness and honesty of the lyrics, it’s music that grabs your heart and makes you sit up straight and listen.
The North East has a burgeoning rock scene just now and Tired of Fighting will be a key player in this.
