Plastic Glass - Let Me Know

Plastic Glass are a four piece indie-rock band hailing from Sunderland, they take numerous influences and bring them together in an energetic way. The band are Lewis Conlin (vocals), Dylan Abbott (lead guitar), Ben Richardson (bass) and Frazer Graham (drums).

They started off recording their debut single For You/Keep Talking in Abbott’s bedroom and have built from there going from strength to strength.

Since forming in 2018 Plastic Glass have played capacity headline shows at North East venues such as Think Tank (Newcastle) and Independent (Sunderland) as well as supporting bands such as The K’s, The Spitfires, The Snuts and The Pale White.

They released their debut EP Broken Town in February 2019, coincidentally on my birthday, cheers for the present lads !!! And this was full of indie bangers, my favourite being ‘Til The End.

Their single Come Clean was released in September 2019 and was recorded with Sugar House Productions (Larkins, Viola Beach etc). It has been championed by It’s All Indie and This Feeling who named it as a ‘Track of the Day’, as well as gaining air time on BBC 6 Music and BBC Newcastle.

Working with acclaimed companies Scruff of the Neck and This Feeling, Plastic Glass announced their first run of UK live shows at the start of 2020 only for these to be cut short by the Coronavirus pandemic.

Whilst working hard to reschedule the cancelled shows for later in the year, they have just released their brand new single Let Me Know on Friday 10 April.

And believe me this latest release is an absolute monster of a tune, it’s introduced with a high octane heaving bass and feisty drum beat before the guitar riff pulls you in hook (if you pardon the pun) line and sinker and that’s even before I talk about the resonating lyrics.

The song is about relationships and in particular deals with the situation where one person may not be so confident in where that relationship is at, opening up with a bit of a plea “cmon let’s take it outside, we haven’t done this for a while, there’s no one around tonight around tonight, we can do what we like” and is echoed by the incredibly catchy chorus “cos I wanna know why you’ve got to go, if you’re going to leave just let me know”.

I just want to restate here that this song is an absolute fucking monster of a tune, Plastic Glass keep getting better with each release and Let Me Know continues that upward curve, add them to your playlists and give them some love.

They are another band to add to my growing list of concerts I want to attend when they return to Scotland once we regain some form of normality.
