Community Swimming Pool - Number One
Community Swimming Pool is the creation of multi-instrumentalist Glasgow based dreampop musician Bmac.
Having written and recorded his debut single Upside Down in one day, it gained him an audience worldwide and support from numerous international radio stations including BBC Introducing.
Community Swimming Pool is back with his self produced second single Number One which was released on Friday 22 January.
When asked about the track Bmac said:
I wrote this song in the summertime, about how my life was effectively ruined for a while by somebody who i spent five years of my life with, but then it switches to focusing on somebody else who changed my life for the better in the choruses. it's an optimistic song about looking forwards and learning to let go of my past.
Number One is a fabulous piece of dream pop, catchy jangly guitar riffs create an upbeat melody that sticks in your head.
Bmac with his wonderful instrumentation has created a gorgeous shimmering track that you can easily sit back and escape into and forget the world for a minute or two. Incidentally all the instruments are played by Bmac himself with the exception of the brilliant drumming from Sam Leighton.
The track as he says is a tale about finding that right person that makes you tick and this is perfectly illustrated in the verse “you’re the best, you’re the worst, you’re the one that gave me worth. you’re the fun, number one, that everybody loves, feels so good, having you, you take it out of me, never leave, you complete, everything to me”.
Number One is a perfect follow up to the debut single Upside Down and firmly places Community Swimming Pool as an artist to be watched.
