Each Confide - You & I

Chris Greig & Craig-Russell Horne are East End of Glasgow Based synth dream pop band Each Confide, they are a duo with ten plus years experience of writing, producing and performing under their belt and may discovered the winning formula that will see them stand out from the crowd in a hugely competitive Chris Scottish music scene.

Last year saw the name change to Each Confide and led to a hugely successful first year with two sold out headline shows and featured at King Tut's Summer Nights Festival and a stream of catchy pop tracks being released.

They now look to 2024 with high hopes and a nearly completed album in their back pocket and a six track EP on the horizon and to kick start the year they have released their latest single You & I.

You & I is a slower-paced number for the duo which imitates an imaginary conversation someone is having with themselves during a time of personal crisis as reflected in the lyrics:

“I’ve been desperate to find myself, some normality, there’s a war in my mind, sorely lacking neutrality, but I feel at the end of my own capacity, time to sound the alarm next stop is catastrophe”

The guitars are very much a nod to their indie rock past projects as is the ear worm of a chorus:

“Nowhere to go, your mind’s in trouble, don’t you think so? ‘Cus you’re too scared of being alone. No need to lie, you’re in denial, think you need a second, let’s work this out just You & I”.

It’s a stunning two and a half minutes of beautiful dream pop and needs to be heard to fully appreciate the harmonies and vocoders used to help convey the emotion given in the vocal performance.

Take a listen and I’m sure you’ll agree that this is sublime dream pop and Each Confide definitely have a part to play in the Scottish music scene.
