Hitlist - Soul Survivor

Hailing from Aberdeen indie rockers Hitlist are literally the new kids on the block, they are a four piece with Callum Jones (guitar/vocals), Calum Chalmers (guitar), Ollie Serle (drums) and Scott Hardie (bass).

Despite being relative newcomers they have supported Connor Fife, Skylights and The Snuts and sold out their recent headline show at Cellars in Aberdeen.

Soul Survivor is their self released debut single and it belies their fledging status by giving us a well rounded track and creates a great first impression.

The track kicks off with a chiming guitar and the deep earthy vocals of Callum and gradually builds into a wave of sound that sweeps you up and carries you through the mesmerising guitar riff until we reach the crescendo of drums that have you bouncing along in tune to their crashing beat.

Although I was aware of the lads due to the promo from their number one cheer leader Kimbo Forsyth this was my first exposure to their music and was absolutely blown away by an outstanding debut single.

I’m going to see them playing in Dundee next weekend and can’t wait to hear Soul Survivor live it will certainly get the crowd going.

Hitlist is a band with huge potential who are attracting a bit of attention already so buy a ticket, stream their music and hop on board a train that has no limits.
