The Passing Sages - Crisis On The Dancefloor
The Passing Sages are a six piece pop outfit from Fife, they are vocalists Carrie Forgan and Holly Clark, Nic Holson on guitar, Daniel Keay on keys, Mr Clyne on bass and Sean Priestley on drums.
The Passing Sages blends electronic pop with retro and nostalgic vibes. Taking inspiration from artists such as Chic, Calvin Harris and Lady Gaga, The Passing Sages are a flourish of disco, electronica and soul.
Since formation, the band have performed across Scotland, playing at a series of distinguished local music and arts festivals alongside notable acts including Idlewild and Honeyblood.
The plan for 2022 is for the band to release regular singles throughout the year and this is kicked off by the release of Crisis On The Dancefloor.
The track is launched with a banging funky bass and some very deep dance beats that are just guaranteed to have your head bopping and your toes tapping even before the dynamic drums kick in.
And then you get the introduction of the guitars and this just cranks up the fun and intensity of the track to even higher levels, it’s a real feel good tune especially with the playful lyrics, I particularly like the lines “no need to panic but we’ve got an epidemic, break out the moves, I don’t want to suppress it, demonstration need to protest it”.
Crisis On The Dancefloor is guaranteed to put a smile on your face, it’s just an absolute funky disco infused banger of a track.
The Passing Sages now have a monthly residency at Vic in St Andrews and will be announcing plenty of other gigs very soon.
