Secret Public - my fault

Secret Public are a rock band formed in Edinburgh in late 2018 they are Calum Brook (guitar), David Campbell (bass), Calum Crawford (drums) and
Joe Rosano (guitar).

They draw on a number of influences from the US alternative/grunge of the Pixies and The Smashing Pumpkins, to Scottish indie heroes such as Idlewild, Frightened Rabbit and We Were Promised Jetpacks.

Their music is exciting, intelligent, and driven by inventive guitar riffs and genuine vocal talent. Debut single Breakthrough was released in June 2019 to hugely positive responses, with one reviewer calling it "a roller-coaster ride of cool hooks & riffs". Follow up A Common Trend came in early 2020 with their third single my fault being released today, Friday 26 June.

my fault is a fantastically energetic piece of indie punk, it’s got a great rhythm set by some blistering drums and a guitar riff that ensures the track has an engaging melody and it will pick you up by the scruff of the neck and grab your complete attention.

The track is complemented by strong vocals and some fantastic lyrics, I loved the verses “no longer will I follow no longer will I sorrow, I’m glad we made it made it, we couldn’t say it say it, keep it straight and narrow keep it until tomorrow, I couldn’t take it, take it, I couldn’t take it, take it” and “look at the moments bellow look at the heads on pillows, we should shake them, shake them, we shouldn’t wake them, wake them, do we have time to borrow why do we feel so hollow, don’t think we made it, made it, I think they’ll say it, say it”.

Secret Public are inventive in their music and I love the slow down to almost no accompanying music when the we hear the lyrics “hold on you have to wait and see you’re wasting everyday with me”.

my fault is a superb track, it will enhance the burgeoning reputation of Secret Public, they will certainly be one of the Edinburgh bands leading the charge of new music coming from the Capital city.
