Komparrison - Dancing With Demons
Komparrison hail from the North East of England, scattered across Redcar, Norton, Sunderland and Washington.
The band take influences from such artists as Lily Allen and Orla Gartland, having the confidence to talk about taboo subjects and make them light hearted.
Their music has featured several times on BBC Introducing Tees and even been chosen as the stations Track of The Week.
Komparrison released Dancing With Demons on Friday 29 January. It will be the first track of three as well as an EP that the band will be releasing in Autumn.
And what a start to 2021 it is for them Dancing With Demons is a feel good indie banger, we have some fantastic chiming guitars, sharp punchy drums and an anthemic chorus.
The track explores the grind of Monday to Friday, and how this should be put on the back burner when the weekend arrives and you can let your hair down and go a bit mental, drowning your sorrows albeit at your own kitchen party !
I love the lyrics when they sing “but it’s Friday night, let’s not think about Monday morning and let’s stay out until 4am” and that leads into the ear worm chorus of ”and we’re dancing with our demons and we’re bouncing of the ceiling”, it’s going to have you head bopping along!!
Komparrison are a new discovery for me and if Dancing With Demons is anything to go by then I can’t wait to hear more. The track has everything you need in an indie pop banger, it has a catchy guitar hook, energy and a singalong chorus, so what’s not to like.
