Say Hello To Andrew Brien
Who is Andrew Brien
I am a Glasgow based Producer Artist/Songwriter that has been writing music since the age of 16. I have performed in different bands across the Glasgow music scene but turned to the world of music production as a vehicle to further explore my key passion, Songwriting. I have also stepped back from performing as the vocalist in my songs to explore how other artists can breathe life into my tracks and bring their own artistic signature elements to my work.
Where are you from
I am based in the west end of Glasgow, Scotland
What music genre are you
I really love everything from Country, Musical Theatre, Electro-Pop, Chart Pop, Pop Punk, Metal....you name it - I can appreciate it.
My main focus of late is on electro-pop anthems and acoustic ballads. With all my music I write the focus is always on the vocal hook, so you should leave my tracks still being able to hum the tune an hour later if I have done my job right.
For fans of
Other producer artists like Zedd, Kygo, Calvin Harris and Artists like Katy Perry, Lewis Capaldi, Lauv.
What music have you released so far
So far I have released:
ElectroPop - Throw Away The Key (feat. Jen Ella) - Sept 2019
Commercial Pop - Deeper (feat. Rob Walker) - Dec 2019
Acoustic Ballad - Our Last Goodbye (feat. Ailie Anderson) - Jan 2020
ElectroPop - End Of The Line (feat. Calum Jones) - March 2020
Dark Pop - Make It Back Somehow (feat. Fraser Watt) - June 2020
oh! and My Thoughts
I was absolutely loving End of the Line and was intending to focus my thoughts around that track until Andy got in touch to say he was releasing a new track Make It Back Somehow, so I decided to delay this article so that I could cover this instead as it’s an absolute banger.
Make It Back Somehow came out today, Friday 19 June and it’s a fantastic piece of dark electro pop, it has a fantastic electro dance beat, which will have you dancing away in no time.
Love the changes of pace to the track as it mixes tempos and beats to complement the excellent vocals of Fraser Watt, including a nifty bit of distorted vocals as the track slows down.
It has got some fantastic lyrics as well, describing the breaking down of a relationship, I really enjoyed the verse “another picture of the wall, you didn’t think I would notice, is this all part of the game, I know you always fantasise about things you always wanted, you can’t hide the memories that we made”.
The ear worm of a chorus “keep trying to tell me it’s over, keep trying to push me back into the crowd, every second we waste makes it colder, how many times can we make it back somehow” really sticks in your head long after the track ends.
Make It Back Somehow is an absolute banging dance track, perfect for an evenings listen or indeed a listen at anytime.
Andrew’s other releases also deserve a listen, as I said I was intending to wax lyrically about End of the Line, but in all honesty I could have chosen any of his tracks. They are all brilliantly produced and he works in partnership with some fantastic vocalists.
