Today is the day ! Echo Machine’s long awaited debut album Instant Transmissions is released and Tonight is the night ! It’s the album launch in store at Assai Records in Dundee.

It is going to be a cosy one, the store is packed, as the assembled crowd welcome Gary, Mike, Lewis, Ben and their new drummer Hannah to the floor.

The set is kicked off with Nightlife, lyrically describing a debaucherous night out, which might be in Echo Machine’s plans once the album launch is finished tonight and they can celebrate.

Next up is Automatic Love a big punchy synth pop dance floor banger, taking us back to the 1980’s but with a contemporary twist.

Headlights is yet again another snappy loud pop banger and I Was Never Here continues on the same vein. They follow this up with Less Alone the opening track of the album and the noise levels don’t subside in the slightest.

We are then taken back to a pre Instant Transmissions with St Elmo, a riff laden synth pop cracker of a tune. We are then told that the next one The Road is going to be final song of the night and is the perfect bone crunching way to the end the night.

But we are treated to an encore of Vibrations to end what is a fantastic set highlighting the talents of the band and leaves me on countdown until I see them support The Ninth Wave, where the noise will be louder and Gary will not be constricted with the space restraints in place this evening.
