Cliché Cult are a Leeds based foursome of Jimmy Sweeney (vocals/guitars), Robin Green (drums), Jake Clayton (lead guitar) and Jimmy Ingham (bass).

After a very impressive first year as a band, being played on BBC Introducing and XS Manchester to playing for promoter This Feeling and supporting fellow Leeds up and comers Skylights, they can hold their heads up high.

They have big plans for 2022 releasing more music this year than they ever have and also getting out showcasing their sound by playing as many live shows as possible.

The first single of the year is Say It Like You Mean It, it’s a song that Cliché Cult have had in their locker for quite some time and feel like it is the perfect song to kick start 2022.

The track was recorded and mixed by The Crib’s and New Model Army producer Jamie Lockhart, they really have stepped up a level with the production on this track.

Say It Like You Mean It is a cracking track, fuzzy guitar riffs that build and swell as the song progresses, this is backed up with some seriously sharp drumming and bass lines that hold everything together.

Say It Like You Mean It is dark post punk indie rock with heavy influences drawn from bands like Joy Division with a twist of Editors and is a sign of a band who are confident in their sound. It’s time to give them a listen, it’s time to join the Cult !
