Red Twin are an alternative pop duo from Dundee made up of brothers Stewart and Cameron Black.

After a strong desire to move previous band Broken Boy into a new direction, they set up a home studio and began experimenting with new sounds and techniques. This meant they could use skills they hadn’t been able to before, while also developing their use of instruments and coming up with ideas that previous projects hadn’t even given a thought to trying.

After a year and half of developing a new sound and generally having fun, Red Twin, with the help of producer Scotty Anderson, have a bunch of new tracks to share.

Following on from their debut single Mango which was released earlier in the year, their second single Orange Sea was released on Friday 14 August.

Orange Sea is an absolute banger of an pop tune, it’s a real dance floor filler, it’s got an amazingly catchy melody, you just can’t stop your feet begin to shuffle.

The melody is a glorious combination of electro synth and fabulous guitar riffs giving it a real contemporary feel, it’s like something from the disco era mixed by The Fratellis.

Lyrically, it feels to me like someone not fighting hard to stay in a relationship when they sing “turn your back on problems again you’ve got no cause left to blame, getting good at starting again trying hard to escape” and with the line “I’m sure you’re giving up too easy, you’re giving up to easy”.

Orange Sea is a fantastic track guaranteed to have you throwing some serious moves to its outrageously catchy melody, give it a play you won’t be disappointed.

And the good new is you won’t have to wait too long to hear more from Red Twin either, with more songs due for release in the coming months.
