Kronos Device - The Infinite Ones EP

Soma continues to push the boundaries as they announce a new electro sub-label Avoidant, designed to push dynamic and diverse sonics from across the globe.

Already with six releases under its belt from duo CYRK, Scottish new blood PinballSpider and Autonomous, future stars Syrte & Confluence their roster is steadily growing with fresh talent.

For the label’s latest release and its first on vinyl, it is from Kronos Device and they return in fine form with The Infinite Ones their first EP in four years. It is released today, Monday 27 April 2020.

Since starting the avoidant label, Kronos Device were the first names to pop into our head for a release, their extreme bass heavy, fast BPM, unique 808 electro style was something we felt suited our labels sound perfectly and have always held them in high regard.

Simon Brown (aka Dexorcist) and Phil Klein (aka Bass Junkie) joined forces in 2001 to form Kronos Device after pre-establishing themselves as major names in the underground scene. The Infinite Ones is a bass-heavy, BPM busting electronic gem, synonymous with their sound.

The opening track Hyperqub3 throws the listener into the deep-end sonically with funked up beats and electrostatic vocals slicing through a thumping bass that drives through the heart and instantly increases the bounce.

Track 2, the title track of the EP, The Infinite Ones, delves into more heady, cerebral sounds, ripping synth sequences, dramatic pads and a pulsing vocal riff, it’s a supremely produced track, showcasing the duos versatility.

The EP culminates with Control Device features some heavy distortion, making the bass work hard, while the robotic overtones and dynamic synths set the beat of the track.

The Infinite Ones is an expertly produced electronic EP that undoubtedly highlights that Kronos Device are indeed pioneers of this genre.
