Silvi - Visions
Scottish singer/songwriter SILVI has had a remarkable rise over the last few years perhaps starting off with her single Burning crowned ‘Song Of The Year’ at the 2022 Weekender Awards.
In 2023, Silvi was showcased as a Wide Days artist giving a stunning live performance at La Belle Angele in April and immediately followed this up in May with her track Don’t Wanna Love Again named BBC radio Scotland’s track of the week.
She has seen shows in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen, including the renowned King Tuts.
As well as performing on stage Silvi also turned her hand to some presenting and starred in a BBC documentary about the grassroots music scene in West Lothian focussing on some of her contemporaries and the venues she had her first live performances.
And 2024 doesn’t look like it’s going to slow down with Silvi making her international live debut representing Scotland at popular music festival and conference Future Echoes in Sweden.
Silvi will also focus on the releasing her debut EP, of which Visions will be the lead single.
With Visions Silvi wanted to explore the idea of picturing yourself living lives you’ll never lead and capturing the element of danger that this may present and this is reflected in the composition of the track with dark brooding and aggressive instrumentation taking Silvi to her rockiest production yet.
In my opinion Silvi is one of the most original artists in Scotland and the UK at the moment, she is not frightened to cross genres or step out of a comfort zone to give us a new sounds and really needs to have a wider audience.
Hopefully the Summer festival season will see some invites to bigger festivals and let more people hear Scotlands next star.
In the meantime give Visions a listen and catch up with Silvi’s fantastic back catalogue.
