Jenko - Oblivion
JENKO is a 26 year old electronic dance pop artist from the UK with a rich musical history. From being handpicked at the age of 16 to collaborate and write songs for Leona Lewis to being spotted as a rising teenage talent by Calvin Harris and Dallas Austin.
After sending demo's out to local radio stations at a young age whilst simultaneously promoting himself on social media, producers soon picked up on his tracks and began airing them, attracting attention from the online press, newspapers and a top song writer who's catalogue includes songs for Sia, Britney Spears, David Guetta and more.
Taking a step back from the industry after a few years to focus on other projects JENKO is now an artist in his own right and is making waves in 2020. His first release this year is Oblivion which Dean Jackson of BBC Radio (and break giver to artists like The Prodigy, Coldplay, Jake Bugg and Nirvana) has called:
“An absolute banger, it's the definition of banger".
So the track Oblivion itself is released today Friday 3 April 2020 and I have to agree with Dean Jackson this song is a banger.
It’s a fantastically structured electro pop track, synths and soft drums giving it a chilled vibe, while the lyrics and it’s almost hummed overlay compliment the laid back feel of the song.
The lyrics talk about leading someone into oblivion the protagonist singing “I stumbled around in another world, feeling my way, I wonder if I will ever learn, maybe some day”.
This is a great track and a song to be played on those chilled evenings or lazy mornings.
