The Rosadocs - Say Something
The Rosadocs are a four piece indie/alt rock band based in the Sheffield area, they are Keelan Graney (vocals/guitar), Joe Egan (guitar/vocals), Adam Sleight (bass/vocals) and Callum Raynor (drums).
They formed in 2017 when Keelan found Joe through a musicians wanted page. Joe joined the band playing lead guitar and then brought Adam in on bass as he knew him from a previous project. Completing the lineup, the band found Callum and brought him on board as their drummer.
Together they released their debut single No.54 which gained many positive reviews and is always a massive hit at any show.
They followed this up in 2018 with the releases of Anticipant and House of Commoners before 2019 saw them release Oak Tree and Concrete.
The lads have built up a strong following courtesy of their live performances, indeed a little after six months of being together, they supported The Sherlocks at their massive sold out hometown show at Sheffield, O2 Academy.
This has continued over the last few years selling out their first ever headline show in a day and playing at festivals such as Tramlines and Mosborough Music Festival.
Their latest single Say Something was released on Saturday 22 August and it’s been a long wait since their last release.
But WOW it was certainly worth the wait, Say Something is an absolute banger of a tune, it has a fantastic melody that hooks you in from the opening chords.
It is a well constructed tune, it’s got everything you want in an indie banger, an engaging energetic melody, well written lyrics and an an absolute belter of a sing-a-long chorus.
Talking about the lyrics, I love the vinyl verse when Keelan sings “who was there when you needed someone to care, was it him or them or me, how many empty bottles did it take to replace your morals was it twelve or twenty three, is hitting the rewind really gonna change your mind, does forgetting really help a thing, I know that over time we will make it all alright, so for now just talk to me”.
and as for the chorus of “say something if you feel alright, say something if you want to fight, I’ll be right here almost every night, where do we belong, say something if you feel ok, say something if it’s what you want to say, I’ll be right here almost every day, where do we belong”, I really can’t wait for a crowd to be singing that at the top of their voices.
Say Something is a fabulous tune, and is a huge step forward from The Rosadocs, this is a track that should be played on all the introducing radio stations, this is how contemporary indie rock should be made.
