Katie Kittermaster - The Problem
Katie Kittermaster is a singer/songwriter, her career started in Dubai when she opened the Global Gift Gala, hosted by Ricky Martin and Eva Longoria and attended by Songwriter Maxwell and rap artist 50Cent.
Katie’s music has received critical acclaim, with her music being featured n ITV’s This Morning. BBC news made a short news article about Kittermaster in 2018, and she has had continuous radio support in the UK by BBC Radio 1, performing live on BBC Radio Kent during 2018.
Opening for the likes of Jools Holland, Olly Murs and Ronan Keating and touring with Lucy Spraggan, and Boyzlife (Brian McFadden and Keith Duffy) over the course of the past two years has made it abundantly clear for Katie that crowds really homed in on her honest, conversational songs and she was compelled to explore the potential of her music a little deeper.
The 2019 EP Coming Home At Dawn, showcased Katie’s song writing craft in the humblest of sonic spaces, leaning predominantly on guitar and vocals.
Katie signed to Revanche Records in June of this year, and it also seen her open for Kaiser Chiefs, Soul II Soul, Gabrielle, Scouting For Girls and Rick Ashley at the UK’s first series of Drive in Garden Party’s.
Katie’s previous single One Of A Kind saw a shift to a more pop focus but did so without losing any of her down to earth charm.
Her new single The Problem, is released today, Friday 16 October and is another sad pop banger.
The story of the song is set with the opening lines as the focus is clearly put on Katie’s vocal, as the music is faded into the background as she sings “I don’t want to be a burden on you, don’t want you to have to go through anything like you did that day, so I won’t tell you what it feels like on the inside, I’ll tell you that I’m feeling just fine so that you don’t run away”.
The track continues with that soft undercurrent melody before it bursts into life around the minute mark and some fabulous pop beats kick in and lift the song to a new level. It still has the melancholy lyrics but an upbeat rhythm that then drives the song through to the finish.
The Problem is yet another step on what is likely to be a glittering pop career for Katie Kittermaster, with each track that is released you can feel the growing confidence and that comes to fruition with her fabulous vocals.
Katie sings during the track “maybe I’m, maybe I’m the problem” this couldn’t be further from the truth in terms of her prospects as The Problem will only enhance her already burgeoning career in the music industry.
