The Novacs - Patchin’

The Novacs are a young, unsigned indie/alternative rock band from Airdrie, Scotland consisting of four high school mates, they are Reiss Harrison (singer), Sam Cane (guitar), Kian Armstrong (bass) and Cameron Waugh (drums).

The band was formed in 2016 in the spider-infested shed of their guitarist, initially trying to pull together some covers but then quickly moved on to something much more serious.

They have developed their sound over the last few years and have released a number of singles, Found, Olivia, Relax, Extent and On Top, all of which have received positive reviews and attracted airplay.

The Novacs have been building up a strong following as a result of their great live performances and 2019 saw them play their first festival at featuring on The Seedlings stage at Belladrum. They hope to secure a spot at TRNSMT Festival in 2021.

Their latest single Patchin’ is released today, Friday 17 April and it’s a belter it starts off with a great guitar hook, strong bass and precise drumming which then drives the melody of the track. As always with The Novacs it’s really catchy tune and Harrison’s vocal is always strong.

As the title suggests, Patchin’ is about being ignored by someone, opening lyrics describe this perfectly “I thought it through but I just can’t figure you out and I thought it through but I can’t resist phoning you now”.

This is a fantastic new tune, building on the catalogue of songs they have already released and continues to see them shine bright as rising stars in the Scottish indie scene and hopefully beyond.
