Silvi - Rain

Silvi is the pseudonym of Jodi Findlay and has released three singles since coming to the attention of the Scottish music scene during the first COVID lockdown.

Her songs earned high praise from the indie community, commenting on the delivery of strong and thought provoking lyrics.

Silvi’s has seen her songs attract a lot of attention, gaining airplay on BBC Scotland introducing and Amazing Radio and placements on Scotify and King Tut’s Spotify playlists helping her gain a wider audience.

Her first release of 2022 is Rain and is a real showcase of Silvi’s ability to easily transcend genres.

The intro to Rain has Silvi rapping her lyrics to a lo-fi beat before the stunning melody of the track kicks in, it’s now we get to hear the full range of her skills as she moves effortlessly into a gorgeous soulful vocal.

As the electronic beats pick up and the track ramps up the drama so does the vocal of Silvi, hitting some huge notes and leaving nothing in the tank as the track closes with an exciting guitar riff.

With Rain allowing Silvi to demonstrate a range of vocal skills all of which are hit perfectly it’s no surprise that a lot of the Scottish music community has earmarked her to be a rising star in 2022.

This track has really whet my appetite for Silvi and can’t wait to hear more from her. I’m especially looking forward to seeing her live supporting Dictator at Stereo in Glasgow later this month.
