Thrillhouse - Janus

Thrillhouse are Sam, Jack, Tash and Alistair, they are a Brighton based alternative indie band.

Sam and Jack met in 2018 and quickly formed a friendship based on coffee and mutual failure. That evolved to beer and naturally talk led to the formation of yet another band! They were joined in the pub and the band by Tash and Alistair and thus Thrillhouse was born.

I’m a big fan of Thrillhouse including Where The Roads Don’t Go as one of my favourite songs of last year.

Their first release of 2022 is Janus and it’s an absolute banger, driven by a big drum beat, some fantastic guitar riffs and a bit of brass sounding psychedelics it’s a song that just wants to make you get on your feet and dance.

It’s a throwback to eighties art pop, a bit of Bowie mixed with Talking Heads and you’ll have a great idea of the sound of this track.

Thrillhouse are purveyors of retro sounding pop classics but they bring a sense of humour and lyrics that are not afraid to reveal their own personal struggles. This is brought to us in joyful ecstatic swathes of sound and will put a cheesy grin on your face as you boogie along.
