Noah Bouchard is a 23 year old artist from Cardiff, currently based in London and has been releasing solo music under this moniker for around 5 years,

He also released a project last summer as part of a duo called Salad Saladson (alongside producer Volcano Szn).

Noah has also been selected as an awardee of the BBC Horizons Launchpad fund 2020.

Going Grey is Noah Bouchard’s second single of 2020, it features sung vocals from Welsh singer/rapper/producer Knomad and production from Minas and was released on Friday 7 August.

The track is a chilled laid back trip hop rap combo, it’s got a slow paced sunny beat, giving it an nostalgic feel, particularly with the sharp and poignant lyrics.

Going Grey is a track that is reflective of the changing perspectives as someone ages, it is put together with some great lyrics which pain that vivid picture of ageing, I love the lines “in my wallet is a fiver and a green ID, my student Oyster card I’m keeping in my jeans, my backpack can occupy the seat by me, in my wired headphones gkmc” and also “plugging up the holes when you can’t fix the thing that’s broken, guessing from my friends who’s turning Tory when they’re older”.

Its a brilliant track and it is elevated even more when the harmonies of Knomad kick in, the added vocal just strengthens the song, I love how it fades out with the vocal “this journey turned me grey, fire just burnt away, I don’t wanna stay”.

Even if this is not your genre, give this track a play, I guarantee that the chilled laidback vibes will make you an instant fan of Noah Bouchard, this should definitely be added to any summer chill playlists.
