Pizza Crunch - Fraud

Pizza Crunch are a Glasgow indie alternative four piece band featuring Ewan Hearns (vocals/guitar), Nathan Stokoe (guitar/vocal), Ewan ‘Nico’ Nicholson (drums) and Craig McDermott (bass).

They released their debut single Fraud on 21 February and have been receiving some airplay from the likes of Jim Gellatly.

They asked if I would have a listen and give it a review, so I did and here it is.

The single lasts just under 4 minutes and is a well balanced track, it has a sharp drum and guitar riff throughout and has a nice punchy pace to it, the lyrics seem to describe finishing education and having to deal with working life, the lyrics “as the night sends you over the edge”, “morning grazes the air you’re in a deep discussion with someone who’s never been there” and “head down do your job” all implying the adjustments needed after leaving school/university.

For me it was a very good debut single showing lots of promise, and certainly on my radar now as a band to be watched, reminded me very much of The Vaccines.
