Formed in Autumn 2019, Sienne are a four piece rock band hailing from Liverpool, they are Calan Nickle (lead vocals), Richard Taylor (guitar), James Rookyard (bass) and Charlie Skeggs (drums).

While the band list the likes of The Stone Roses and Manic Street Preachers as influences, more recent acts such as Blossoms and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds also run through their music. 

The band have already achieved a great deal in their short time together with previous singles receiving airplay on radio stations across the UK including BBC Introducing Merseyside.

Their latest single Can You Hear Me Now was released on Friday 30 October and interestingly it’s a song adapted from a demo recorded by Charlie’s dad in the early 80’s.

This track is an absolute monster, it’s designed to fill stadiums with it’s melody designed to be clapped along too, it grabs your attention with its opening line of “can you hear me now, calling out your name you know it never feels the same” and does not drop you again until the song ends.

it features glorious drumbeats, some grungy groovy guitars and it has a chorus to die for, the chorus builds on the words of the opening lines and will stick in your head, it will definitely raise the roof when they play this live.

Can You Hear Me Now has a real 80’s stadium rock feel but it has cleverly been adapted by the lads and their producer Alec Brits (The Cabin) to give it a contemporary twist.

Sienne are a band I have discovered during lockdown and I’m absolutely loving them, despite the lockdown 2020 has been a prolific period for the band, I’d suggest you catch up on their back catalogue cos these guys may well rocket once we can get back to gigging. They really are that good.
