The Balcony - Feel For You
The Balcony are a rock-pop five piece from Teesside, they are Dom Hansford (vocals), Ryan Daley (guitar), Nathan Dennis (guitar), Mikey Knowles (bass) and Jordan Hunter (drums).
Forming in the new year of 2019, the band quickly realised their strengths and began writing melodic, guitar-driven tracks with soaring vocals and lyrics that tell a powerful story. The band have already chalked up a strong fan base, something they earned through gigging across the North East of England, picking up the attention of This Feeling along the way resulting in two packed takeover shows in the band’s hometown of Stockton-on-Tees.
They released their eponymous EP last year and celebrated the launch by playing their biggest headline show to date at Westgarth in Middlesbrough.
Their latest single Feel For You was released on 1 May 2020, it’s not a new song to fans of the band as it’s been a staple of their live set. What they have done is rework it to reduce the length of the song to make it more radio friendly.
Dom explains a little bit about the track:
Feel for You is the familiar story of feeling stuck in a relationship that’s not really doing it for either person anymore. It’s definitely a song that’s been written with playing live in mind, every part from the riff that the whole song is built around to the euphoric final chorus has had the crowd in mind.
Feel For You starts with a chunky guitar riff and is joined by the drums to set the rhythm for the track before the vocals from Dom kick in. The song has a good melody and I can see why it is fan favourite from their live performances. The rhythm production of the track is excellent, showcasing the musicianship of the band.
The lyrics “All that you ever want, is something you will never get” describes the problems in a relationship that is starting to crumble.
It’s a catchy number and will have you bouncing along to the melodies and singing along with the snappy chorus, get it added to your playlists.
