SHADER - Be My Saviour

SHADER are a Northwest based four piece indie rock band, they are Stu Whiston (vocals/guitar), Mike Lo Bosco (guitar), Daz Edwards (bass) and Tom Turney (drums).

They deliver an eclectic swirl of huge melodic guitar riffs and northern grooves colliding with addictive choruses. The band have built up a strong following from relentless gigging, including an invite to play Kendal Calling and supporting the likes of Shaun Ryder (Happy Mondays) & Kyle Falconer (The View) winning over crowds with their enigmatic live shows.

Their latest single Be My Saviour was released on March 18 2020 and was recorded by Gavin Monaghan (The Blinders/Editors/The Twang) and had an exclusive first play on BBC Introducing Stoke before being play listed on XS Manchester.

So to the song itself, it starts off with a huge guitar riff that holds the song throughout, with the rhythm set with sharp drumming and bass it really drives the song along. The strong vocals of Whiston really are suited to the song, it has some playful lyrics “like a shopping trolley on a pebble beach” and has a catchy as fuck chorus which you can just hear being belted back at them.

It’s a cracking song clearly more rock than some of today’s Indie bands, so definite influences from Oasis and The Stone Roses but still with a current vibe.

Once the world is back to normal it is a band I hope to see coming up to Scotland to unleash their brand of indie rock.
