Snash - PIGS

Snash are a Glasgow post punk quartet, they are renowned for their energetic live sets and the raucous noise that they produce.

They seem to be doing it old-school style, not much in the way of social media, just getting out there and letting the music speak for itself. They have been featured on the excellent Tenement TV who provide a superb showcase for up and coming Scottish talent.

Their latest single Pigs is released on 7 West Records today Friday 3 April 2020 and it’s a full on blast from the outset, starting with what sounds like a military drum beat, before being joined by throbbing guitars and a almost spoken word lyric, before transforming into a more snarly punk vocal.

It has clever witty lyrics, I particularly liked “Fee fi fo fum I smell the blood of an Englishman” and “back to basics, back to the roots, back to square one, back to reality”. I also appreciate there is no intention to disguise their local accent in the vocal.

This is a full on punk snarl, angst, aggressive and exactly what you want from a band who deliver exactly what their name suggests, some great verbal intolerance.
