The Roly Mo - Control Yourself
The Roly Mo are a Glasgow based indie rock band, they are Joe Morton (vocals, guitar), Jack Livingstone (guitar), Andrew Noble (bass) and Lewis Jaoui (drums).
Winning over audiences at festivals like Tenement Trail, Stag and Dagger and EH6 and stealing the show in their support slots with Glasgow stalwarts The Dunts, Baby Strange, Gallus, Dead Pony and Pleasure Heads, The Roly Mo have just announced their upcoming six track debut EP TRM which is due for release 11 September via 7 West Music.
As a prelude Control Yourself the third and final single from the EP was released on Friday 14 August, it follows on from previous releases Diamond Doll and I’ll Be Happy When You Die.
Speaking about the new single, The Roly Mo’s frontman Joe Morton notes
it’s a personal favourite of mine as I feel I’ve given myself the best advice I could receive but never seem to put into practice.
Control Yourself is an infectious catchy piece of indie punk, it’s got a magnificent ear worm of a melody, you are going to be jumping up and down, I guarantee it.
The track is full of fantastic guitar hooks that just absorb you into the vocals which tell of a rough evening, I particularly liked the lines “my reflection tells me I’m on my way to hell” and the singalong line “it’s been a rough night you can control yourself”.
The Roly Mo have really bounced onto the Glasgow scene over the last eighteen months or so and you can see why as they release one class single after another. Get involved now as these lads are going to be huge.
