Forming in 2018, Peplo is a Glasgow based four piece that cuts classic pop songcraft with an alternative edge, they are Cit Lennox, Iain O’Donnell, Mark Hinds and Daniel Young.

They've shared stages with the likes of Meursault, Jonnie Common, Hailey Beavis and En Attendant Ana. The band's sound has been described as "lofi, dreamy and lush" by The Unsigned Guide.

It has been a busy year for Peplo they released their debut single Tall back in February, this was followed up in a June by Katarina’s Got My Tongue, which was shortlisted for Fresh On The Net’s Listening Post, where it was voted for by several listeners, including Tom Robinson, who subsequently played the track on his BBC Radio 6 Music show BBC Introducing Mixtape.

Their third single of the year Just To Get To You was released last Friday, 25 September and is a prelude to their forthcoming debut EP, which is due to be released before the end of the year.

Just To Get To You is a glorious track, a dreamy melody, perpetrated by some gorgeous guitar riffs and a dynamic drum beat. It’s a track that catches your attention with it’s dream pop beat and the stunningly beautiful ethereal vocals.

I love the witty lyrics, particularly “you've got Netflix but you've got no chill, you make me feel like Bond with a licence to kill the mood, when I move 
like a chessman in a checkers’ game”.

Just To Get To You is the perfect song as we enter Autumn with it’s tranquil and relaxing vibes, ideal for chilling in the darker evenings.

I gave all three singles a listen in preparation for writing this review and Peplo are certainly a band who need to be followed, they write some killer tunes, they are a must see for me as soon as it’s possible.
