Dirty Mike - Debra Deborah

Dirty Mike are a three piece indie rock band looking to make their mark on the growing success of Glasgow's music scene, they are Daniel Mclellan (vocals/bass), Cameron Simpson (vocals/guitar) and Christopher Simpson (drums).

Drawing inspiration from late 90s and early 00s punk rock/pop punk bands, they produce energetic catchy tunes which has led to some bouncing shows, with plenty more to follow.   

Dirty Mike kick started 2020 with debut release Latina, as well as a sold out single launch at Stereo in their hometown of Glasgow.

They plan to build on the momentum with new single Debra Deborah which came out 4 July 2020 and it’s a banging tune.

The track kicks off with a pulverising guitar riff and a heart pounding drum beat which really sets the rhythm for this high intensity three minute piece of punchy punk.

The melody is fast and frantic but catchy as fuck and really hooks you into the track, it’s also got some good lyrics as well, I liked the verse “your numbers on ma phone will ah text you ah don’t know, my head is racing I can’t decide if ah want to chase you now, I don’t need anyone but I fuckin’ love someone if you make feel like you do”.

Debra Deborah is a great track and builds fantastically on Latina their debut single. With these two releases Dirty Mike will be gatecrashing the top table of the fantastic indie punk scene that is prominent in Scotland just now.
