Community Swimming Pool is a project from multi-instrumentalist Glasgow musician Brett McCann.

The debut single Upside Down was released on Friday 14 August and what a debut it is, it is a real throwback to eighties Scottish indie pop, with it’s luscious jangly guitars captivating you from the outset.

That summery feel good melody is brilliantly backed up by Brett’s dreamy vocal performance, giving this song a real escapism from the troubles that he sings about.

The song title Upside Down is actually inspired, as the track is a real contradiction, from the melodies you sense a song of joy and hope, but the lyrics portray the harsh realities of dealing with life.

Either way Upside Down is a fantastic debut single, if Community Swimming Pool have more of this in store then count me in for the duration. Get this song played now and then try and avoid hitting the repeat button, go on try it !!
