Welcome to AliveandGigging

Hi, please let me start by giving you a warm welcome to AliveandGigging.

After many years of listening, buying and watching music I have taken the leap to start a blog to give me the chance to share my experiences and to give my views on the music scene.

So what are my passions in music, well up until a few years ago my main taste in music would have been guitar based music, and a self description of “Indie Dude” would be spot on.

Although as I get older my appreciation of other genres is now better so have a more varied taste in music.

I am a huge fan of vinyl, there is nothing better than holding the record sleeve and then removing the vinyl in anticipation of hearing some new tunes or old favourites.

I also love live gigs, the connection between the band and the crowd is always an uplifting experience and the buzz you get is huge.

There is nothing better than seeing new bands and promoting their music to others to help them hopefully grow their fan base.

So what can you expect from the site, well the plan is to is to do reviews of gigs and new albums/songs and general chat about music.

I am based in Dundee and work full time so live gigs may be restricted as the North East of Scotland is often off the radar for many bands and due to time, travel, finances etc It is often difficult to get out and about to the central belt.

I’m not going to put pressure on myself by committing to issue daily/weekly updates or reviews every week as I want the website to be natural and follow my own experiences but I will use social media to promote new content when it is available.

Anyway enough about the site and its plans, I just want to finish by saying feedback is very welcomed and want to once again give you a warm welcome to the site and I hope that you find it enjoyable.
